The Medical Assistant will perform delegated patient care functions, primarily involving rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting with examinations and minor procedures, and performing phlebotomy. Additionally, the role requires covering administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling, and managing patient check-in/discharge when necessary.
Candidates must have a diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program, or hold an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic, or Medic Certification, or possess at least one year of direct patient care experience in lieu of formal education. A Certified BLS Provider credential from the AHA is required within 90 days of hire, and experience with EPIC EMR is preferred.
