This hybrid role involves coordinating complex patient care schedules, focusing on health maintenance and managing patients with chronic or serious health problems, while also assisting with direct patient care under physician direction. The Panel Coordinator aspect requires advanced administrative skills to support the Care Team, ensuring timely access to care and continuity for the assigned patient panel.
Candidates must complete a medical assistant program or equivalent military medical services training, and possess experience as a back office medical assistant, with one year preferred. Required credentials include current CPR certification and MA certification within one year, along with specific Washington State certification if applicable.
This is a hybrid role combining the responsibilities of a Panel Coordinator with those of a Medical Assistant I. Panel Coordinator The role of the Panel Coordinator provides complex and diversified support to the Care Team (provider, medical assistant, nurse, behavioral health provider, etc) by coordinating care for patients on the daily schedule and support that requires advanced administrative skills and knowledge. Panel Coordinator will coordinate services for all patients who are part of the assigned panel, focusing on health maintenance and those with serious, complex or chronic health problems or with psychosocial issues. The Panel Coordinator works within the context of a primary care medical home, from a team approach, and in continuous partnership with patients and physicians to promote: timely access to needed care, comprehension and continuity of care, and the enhancement of patient well-being. Work is generally performed independently requiring judgment and problem-solving skills with limited supervision. MA I The Medical Assistant I – Clinics is responsible for assisting with patient care, maintaining department/clinic efficiency, and other duties, as assigned. Participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of a physician. Participates in daily operations under the supervisor or manager.
Education: Completion of a medical assistant program or successful completion of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
Experience as a back office medical assistant. One-year experience, preferred.
