The primary duty involves performing routine tasks related to drawing and collecting blood specimens from identified patients according to established procedures. Additionally, the role includes receiving and processing specimens, maintaining laboratory supplies, and performing Point of Care Tests with result documentation.
A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required, while an Associate's Degree or completion of a Medical Assistance program is preferred. A minimum of one year of Phlebotomy experience and a Certified Phlebotomist Tech certification are preferred.
Performs a variety of generally routine duties involved in the drawing and collection of blood specimens from identified patients. Records necessary information following established methods and procedures and all hospital rules and regulations. They also perform duties relative to receiving and processing specimens and maintaining laboratory supplies. Perform Point of Care Tests, interpret the results, and document the patient and control results according to the SOP.
