The Surgical Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care before, during, and after surgery. The primary goal of this role is to perform necessary tasks to ensure the surgeon can complete an efficient and safe operation.
Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma/GED and completion of a formal surgical assisting program, along with one year of experience. Certification in an approved Surgical Assistant program is required within the first twelve months, and BLS certification is mandatory.
