The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to patients by utilizing the nursing process and adhering to professional standards of practice. The RN maintains overall accountability for assigned patients and may function as a charge nurse when designated.
A minimum requirement is an Associate's degree from an accredited school of nursing, though new hires after a certain date must obtain a BSN within three years. Applicants must possess a current Florida RN license and BLS certification from the American Heart Association, with less than one year of related experience preferred.

The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.
