The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs laboratory tests on patient specimens and provides information for the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of diseases. They maintain records of performance and utilize independent judgment to generate acceptable test results within quality control standards.
A Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences is required, along with one year of relevant experience. Certification or eligibility for board certification by ASCP, AMT, NCA, or equivalent certification is also necessary.
