The technician utilizes laboratory skills to execute and report results from defined laboratory procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities include receiving, organizing, and prioritizing specimens, performing tests, and conducting quality control and instrument maintenance.
A minimum requirement is an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or completion of a 50-week US military medical laboratory training course with relevant specialty. Candidates must also possess basic computer literacy and obtain national certification within six months of hire.
Utilizes laboratory skills to perform and report results of clearly defined laboratory procedures assuring optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for assigned shifts and subject to overtime and call back as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
