The Licensed Practical Nurse renders direct and indirect patient care in support of medical care according to established standards and policies. This role involves contributing to the nursing assessment and promoting positive relationships and teamwork among employees and departments.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, hold a current Alabama nursing license, and possess current BCLS certification. Successful completion of the Southeast Health pharmacology exam and computer literacy are also required, with medical office experience being preferred.

Summary Utilizing the skill and knowledge of a Licensed Practical Nurse renders direct and indirect patient care in support of medical care and in accordance with established standards of care, as well as policies and procedures of Southeast Health. Contributes to the nursing assessment. Responsible for promoting positive relationships and teamwork among employees and between departments. Responsible and accountable for own clinical practice, as well as the quality and quantity of nursing care given to patients by nursing personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Alabama nursing license. BCLS certification (current). Successful completion of Southeast Health pharmacology exam. Computer literacy. Medical Office Experience preferred. LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively communicate in an emergency situation. SKILLS: Basic typing skills. Effective telephone techniques. Ability to perform patient assessment including, but not limited to: vital signs, history, medication reconciliation and administering of medications. Ability to document patient assessment.
