The Dental Hygienist provides dental care and promotes oral health by assessing patient needs, cleaning teeth, taking x-rays, and educating patients on proper hygiene under dentist supervision. Key duties include preparing treatment rooms, maintaining sterilized instruments, documenting services, and adhering to safety and infection-control protocols.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Dental Hygienist school and possess two years of experience, with a preference for five years of experience and previous correctional/detention facility experience. Applicants are required to maintain an unrestricted state Dental Hygiene license and current BLS and ACLS certifications through the AHA.
