The role involves working alongside a neonatology physician using a team-based approach to care, rotating between the downtown Methodist NICU and the Methodist West special care unit. Responsibilities include managing approximately 15 patients per day within a Level 3B NICU environment.
Candidates must be a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, NRP Certified, and either Board Eligible or Board Certified. Applicants must also hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe medications and be eligible to work in the United States.
Full-time Join a group of 7 board certified Neonatologists and 12 Neonatal Nurse Practitioners Rotate between downtown Methodist NICU and Methodist West special care unit Cover day and night shifts in the NICU with an in-house Neonatologist Manage premature and high-acuity neonates in a Level IIIB NICU Attend high-risk deliveries and lead neonatal resuscitations with a dedicated transport team Perform advanced procedures (intubation, UAC/UVC placement, lumbar puncture, chest tubes) Manage ventilatory support, including high frequency, conventional and non-invasive modalities Collaborate closely with Neonatologists and multidisciplinary team members Support and educate families during critical moments Level 3B NICU (census trends of 40-50 patients)
