The Echocardiogram Technician will perform routine and emergency echocardiograms and operate ultrasound equipment while ensuring patient comfort and safety. They will also analyze test results and collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive cardiac care.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Echocardiography program and hold a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer registration. Technical proficiency and a commitment to patient care are essential.
Perform routine and emergency transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms. Operate ultrasound equipment and maintain imaging records in accordance with hospital protocols. Analyze and review test results for clarity and accuracy before submission to interpreting cardiologists. Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout procedures. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive cardiac care. Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of equipment and exam rooms. Stay updated on advancements in cardiac imaging techniques and technology.
Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Echocardiography program License(s)/Certification(s): Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer registration (RDCS) with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or from Cardiac Credentialing International
