The LPN provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider, implementing nursing procedures and assisting with patient education. They also document patient care and communicate with team members to ensure quality care delivery.
Candidates must be graduates of a State board School of Practical Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure. BLS certification is required before the end of the orientation period, and both experienced and new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs a broad array of nursing tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. The individual provides direct patient care for diverse patient populations that vary in gender, age, socioeconomic status, education, physical and mental abilities, locations, sexual lifestyle, and racial and ethnic background. The LPN implements technical nursing procedures according to established policies and procedures and plan of care, assists and reinforces routine patient education, and documents patient care appropriately. The LPN communicates and interacts with other team members to facilitate teamwork and delivery of quality care.
Education: Graduate of State board School of Practical Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.
