Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains awareness of all departmental and operational policies of Altus Community Healthcare (ACH).
• Assists in the maintenance of all equipment in the department, including cleaning and QA procedures.
• Explainsthe ultrasound procedure to patients and answers any questions they may have.
• Maintains ultrasound equipment and areas in which the procedures take place.
• Performs high-level disinfection on endocavity probes/transducers when necessary and according to policy and procedure.
• Performs ultrasounds using technique that ensures the transducer (probe) captures images from each angle and areaassessed.
• Evaluates images forquality and ensures that images of theappropriatearea/organ/body part are captured.
• Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team.
• Maintain patient records and adds notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications: Education & experience

• Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is required.
• At least2years of ultrasound/sonography experience.
• LANGUAGE/MATH/REASONING ABILITY Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation.
• Good communication skills.
• COMPUTER SKILLS Basic computer skills CERTIFICATE/LICENSES Active certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate.
