The role involves performing highly skilled duties associated with operating specialized equipment to aid physicians in the examination and treatment of eye diseases. Key tasks include measuring visual acuity, performing sensory and color vision testing, recording patient history, assisting in minor outpatient surgeries, and operating/maintaining ophthalmic imaging equipment.
A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required, along with 1 to 3 years of experience in ophthalmic imaging. Candidates must possess strong communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills, along with knowledge of medical office practices and terminology.
Ability to communicate written and oral with physicians, other clinical Associates, and patients and their families both verbally and in writing. Interpersonal skills with ability to successfully interact with physicians, other Associates and patients and their families. Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and problem solving. Knowledge of medical office practices and medical terminology. Ability to operate automated and non-automated ophthalmic equipment. High attention to detail demonstrated in clinical and contractual settings. Supervision Provided by this Position No Supervisory or lead responsibilities. Physical Demands The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. The physical requirements of this position are: light work - up to10 lbs. of force occasionally. The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading. Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact. Frequent exposure to patient body fluids. Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
