The role involves performing inpatient, outpatient, and emergency echocardiograms using ultrasound diagnostic equipment to generate heart structure pictures and measurements. Responsibilities also include completing all necessary patient charting, billing, and assisting physicians during specialized procedures like transesophageal and stress echoes.
Candidates must have completed two to three years of occupationally specific education beyond high school in sonography or a related field, or equivalent on-the-job training. Required credentials include CPR certification and ARRT, ARDMS, RDCS, RCVT, RVT, or equivalent certification, with registry eligibility acceptable if certification is obtained within two years of hire.

Completion of at least two years of occupationally specific education beyond high school in radiologic technology, sonography, other related education, or on the job training.
