The role involves performing a wide range of medical laboratory procedures that require technical knowledge and skill, including operating complex laboratory analyzers to generate critical data for diagnosis and treatment. The technologist will also make independent decisions when reporting test results and perform quality control analysis.
Candidates must meet Florida state licensure requirements for a Technologist, which generally requires a High School Diploma/GED, though new hires effective October 1, 2022, must possess a bachelor's degree in a related science field or equivalent experience. A current Florida Technologist License in the appropriate area is required for employment.
