The primary function involves performing manual technical tasks related to the proper storage, distribution, packaging, and labeling of drugs. This role also includes associated record keeping and patient charging systems under the direct control of a Registered Pharmacist.
A High School diploma or equivalent is required, and prior Hospital Pharmacy technician experience is preferred. Licensure by the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs Pharmacy Technician is mandatory within six months of employment.
Performs the manual technical tasks involved with the proper storage, distribution, packaging and labeling of drugs, associated record keeping and patient charging systems. Works under the direct supervision and control of a Registered Pharmacist. Follows proper procedures for the operation of equipment and use of supplies.
Education & Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. Hospital Pharmacy technician experience preferred. Certification/Licensure: NJ Division of Consumer Affairs Pharmacy Technician Licensure required within 6 months of employment in this position. National Certifications for Pharmacy Technicians CPHT from the following agencies: PTCB, NHA, ASHP/ACPE preferred.
