The Physician Assistant will provide healthcare services under physician supervision, diagnosing and treating human skin diseases by performing comprehensive physical examinations and interpreting diagnostic test results. Key duties include administering treatments, performing therapeutic and minor surgical procedures, developing patient management plans, and instructing patients on therapeutic regimens.
Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of clinical work experience as a Dermatology APP, excluding rotations or MA experience. Required knowledge includes thorough medical terminology and medical billing/coding, specifically CPT and ICD-10, alongside strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Diagnoses patient conditions, examines skin to determine nature of disease, administers or orders diagnostic tests, taking blood samples, smears and skin biopsies from affected areas, and interprets test results for deviations from normal. Treats illnesses, abscesses, skin injuries, malignancies, skin infections, and other skin conditions Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, and other procedures as appropriate. Assists Physician(s) in surgical procedures, surgically excises cutaneous malignancies, cysts, birthmarks, and other growths, suturing, wound care, and other procedures as appropriate. Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance. Prescribes and administers medications under the supervision of the physician(s) and in accordance with regulations of the State Medical Board/Regulatory agency for PA’s. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service. Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization. Requirements Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, required. Thorough knowledge of medical billing coding, including CPT and ICD-10 coding, required.
