The Health Care Technician provides essential support to licensed nursing staff by assisting patients with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living. They are also responsible for collecting patient data, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining unit supplies to ensure smooth operations.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and a BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Required experience includes CNA certification, completion of CNA coursework, or relevant medical military training.
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Health Care Technician (HCT) functions as a support to the licensed nursing staff and performs activities related to the personal care and hygiene needs of an assigned patient group. Facilitates communication with other departments, visitors, patients, medical staff and employees. Serves as a public relations liaison for the unit. Works under the direct supervision of the nursing manager.
