The role involves providing daily respiratory care to hospital patients of all ages with pulmonary system disorders under general supervision. Responsibilities include independently performing respiratory therapy, procedures, equipment cleaning/maintenance, and executing physician-ordered respiratory treatments.
Candidates must be able to read, write, and follow complex medical instructions, possessing a thorough understanding of respiratory therapy procedures and equipment. Required qualifications include completion of an accredited respiratory therapy school, Indiana State licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, and current BLS certification.
Work under general supervision to provide day to day respiratory care to hospital patients of all ages with disorders of the pulmonary system. Perform respiratory therapy and procedures independently in addition to general cleaning and maintenance of related equipment. Receive verbal orders from physicians for respiratory treatments according to specific policies. Perform pulmonary function testing on patients.
