The Occupational Therapist develops and provides therapy services to patients, evaluates and treats them in various settings, and supervises assistants. They also communicate with healthcare teams and document patient progress.
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and at least one year of experience in inpatient and outpatient settings. Licensure by the Texas Board and certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy are required.

Nexus Children’s Hospital – Houston provides structured inpatient care for children ages 4 to 18 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD). Located in Houston’s Westchase District, our bright, home-like environment offers a safe and supportive setting where children can grow, stabilize, and build the skills needed for success.
Our program focuses on behavioral stability, communication development, and functional independence. Our interdisciplinary team works closely with patients and families to improve daily living skills, sensory regulation, and overall independence while supporting emotional and behavioral growth — because at Nexus, we’re mending minds.

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides therapeutic services to children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental, behavioral, and medically complex conditions. The OT evaluates functional abilities, develops individualized treatment plans, and works closely with the interdisciplinary team to improve daily living skills, sensory processing, coordination, and independence.
This role requires strong clinical reasoning, flexibility, and the ability to work with patients who may have developmental, behavioral, or emotional regulation challenges.
