Veterinary Assistants support veterinarians and technicians by preparing exam rooms, taking client histories, performing physical assessments, and educating clients on preventative healthcare. They also perform essential tasks like venipuncture, in-house lab work, monitoring hospitalized patients, and managing admission/discharge protocols.
The ideal candidate needs a genuine love for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, requiring flexibility and a strong work ethic. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
