The Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to care for adult psychiatric patients, maintaining accurate records, and summarizing assessment data to initiate care plans communicated to allied providers. This role also involves demonstrating proficiency as a charge nurse, acting as a resource person for staff, and participating in quality improvement activities.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited School of Nursing, currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts, possess Basic Life Support Certification, and pass the Psychiatric Pharmacology exam. Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention is required within three months of starting the position.
