The Hospitalist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients at Altru, providing comprehensive care for injuries and illnesses while counseling patients on preventive healthcare measures. Responsibilities also include exercising professional judgment aligned with Altru’s policies, achieving annual goals, and maintaining accurate documentation for quality care and reimbursement.
Candidates must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine and licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and Minnesota. Applicants must also meet educational requirements, be admissible for board certification, and be insurable under the Health System’s professional liability carrier.

Hospitalists’ responsibilities include counseling patients on preventive healthcare measures and exercising professional judgment in alignment with Altru’s policies and standards. The position requires achieving annual Patient Engagement and Quality & Safety goals, supporting department objectives, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation to ensure quality patient care and appropriate reimbursement. Essential Job Functions: Evaluates, provides diagnosis and treatment of patients of Altru who present with injuries or illnesses. Counsels patients and advises on preventative healthcare measures. Exercises Doctor's own judgment in the diagnosis and treatment of patients consistent with Altru’s policies and standards. Achieves the Altru Patient Engagement and Quality & Safety goals established on an annual basis. Participates in activities and support department goals as defined by department on an annual basis. Maintains accurate and timely documentation ensuring quality patient care and assurance of appropriate reimbursements to Altru. Performs other duties as assigned.
