Under the supervision of a physical therapist, the assistant delivers skilled physical therapy treatments following the established plan of care to improve patient mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and decrease deformity due to injury or disease. This role involves carrying out therapeutic plans directed toward these specific patient outcomes.
Candidates must possess an Associate's Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant and hold a valid Physical Therapist Assistant License for the State of Florida upon hire, along with current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification. Required abilities include competence in delivering skilled physical therapy services, knowledge of the scope of practice, and excellent time management skills.
