This role involves conducting NIH-funded basic and translational research focused on how prenatal vitamin D deficiency and hyperglycemia program cardiovascular and metabolic disease across the lifespan. Primary duties include investigating mechanisms by which vitamin D and acute hyperglycemia modulate innate immune cells and inflammation contributing to insulin resistance and cardiovascular disease.
Candidates must possess a Ph.D., M.D., or an equivalent terminal or doctoral degree, with no specific work experience or professional licenses required beyond the terminal degree. The position requires working in a laboratory setting with potential exposure to biological/chemical hazards and the ability to care for research animals.
