The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing basic nursing care, including vital sign checks, catheter insertion, patient comfort measures, and accurate documentation of patient status and responses to care. This role also involves administering medications, communicating with RNs and physicians, and collaborating with the health team to ensure patient well-being.
Candidates must be able to perform direct patient care using established procedures, administer medications safely, and handle emergency situations professionally. Essential duties include maintaining accurate medical records, verifying patient identity before treatment, and ensuring narcotic records are correct for the shift.
