The Pharmacy Technician assists the Registered Pharmacist in dispensing medications, which includes packaging, arranging delivery, and monitoring inventory levels of FDA-approved drugs. Responsibilities also involve maintaining perpetual inventory, monitoring expiration dates, and ensuring strict patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be a Certified Pharmacy Technician registered with the State. Desirable qualifications include previous hospital pharmacy experience, proficiency in organizational, communication, and basic computer skills, including typing at 30 WPM.
The purpose of this position is to help achieve cost effective, results oriented and customer focus manner pharmaceutical services by performing these duties in a highly confidential manner, in accordance with the mission, values and behaviors of Insight Chicago Pharmacy.. The pharmacy lead technician, under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist shall prepare medications, order, receive and maintain a perpetual inventory (maintains and established PAR levels). These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, in accordance with the mission, values and behaviors of Insight Chicago Hospital. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and guests.
