The nurse is responsible for implementing the nursing care plan, fulfilling physician orders, ensuring continuity and quality of care, and continually evaluating the patient's condition while maintaining safety, comfort, and privacy. Duties also include assisting physicians in procedure rooms, responding to emergencies, managing pain, delivering medication, and performing patient assessments.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, preferably with a BSN, and hold a current Texas RN License. A minimum of two years of experience as an RN in a critical care or post-anesthesia care unit setting is required, along with BLS certification and obtaining ACLS and PALS within 30 days of hire.
