Requirements summary
Candidates must complete a Medical Assistant program with evidence of training in clinic procedures and hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with no prior experience required. Prepares and administers medications, including immunizations, as ordered and within scope.
Documents all patient care accurately and timely in the EHR.
Communicates provider-directed lab and diagnostic test results per policy.

Maintains patient privacy and dignity throughout the encounter. 3. Care Coordination & Team Collaboration (20%)
Communicates clearly, respectfully and effectively with patients, families and caregivers.
Serves as liaison between patients and interdisciplinary care team.
Collaborates with providers, nurses, care coordinators, front office staff and other departments to support coordinated patient care.
Schedules in-house procedures and initiates referrals to outside agencies/providers.
Actively participates in referral tracking, follow-up and care coordination.
Communicates status updates to providers and care team members per protocol. 4. Quality Improvement & Population Health (10%)
Participates in Quality Improvement initiatives, including workflow improvement and metric monitoring.
Assists with accurate documentation and data entry supporting UDS, HRSA and organizational reporting.
Identifies care gaps (e.g. immunizations, screenings, chronic disease measures) and supports outreach and follow-up efforts.
Participates in huddles and staff meetings to review quality metrics and contribute improvement ideas.
Supports compliance with infection control, patient safety and regulatory standards. 5. Clinical Environment & Compliance (10%)
Maintains cleanliness and disinfection of exam rooms and clinical work areas.
Completes refrigerator/freezer temperature logs, medication and supply expiration checks, and CLIA quality control processes as assigned.
Maintains and appropriately uses clinical equipment; reports malfunctions promptly.
Enters orders appropriately for completed testing and health maintenance measures.
Assists with desktop and workflow functions as assigned. 6. Professional Accountability & Growth (10%)
Maintain BLS certification
Demonstrates commitment to ongoing professional development and skill validation.
Maintains certification (if applicable) in good standing.
Seeks supervision appropriately and functions as a reliable team member.
