The technician is responsible for maintaining a therapeutic and safe group environment while attending to the basic needs and welfare of clients dealing with mental health and substance use challenges. This includes providing informal counseling using behavioral techniques and reality therapy, and accompanying clients on various outings and to appointments.
Candidates must be able to assist clients in successfully completing treatment requirements and effectively communicate with community agencies regarding referrals. A high school diploma or GED is required, and maintaining a valid state-appropriate driver's license with auto insurance is mandatory for utilizing agency vehicles.

As a Direct Care Technician/Counselor on the team you will be responsible for providing and maintaining a therapeutic and safe group environment and attending to the welfare and basic needs of clients. The counselor provides informal counseling that involve behavioral techniques, reality therapy, supportive encouragement and socialization skills for the clients. You will also participate with the client in NA/AA meetings, adventure, social and educational outings an provide transportation to appointments.
