A Physical Therapist Assistant works under a licensed Physical Therapist to aid patients recovering from injuries or illnesses by implementing prescribed physical therapy plans involving exercises, stretching, and manipulation to restore movement and manage pain. Essential functions include assisting residents with ambulation, performing physical examinations, documenting care, and instructing patients on therapeutic regimens and the use of supportive devices.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program and hold current state PTA licensure along with valid CPR certification. Preferably, applicants should possess six months of experience working in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment.

A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to help residents/patients with physical injuries or illnesses to regain range of movement and control their pain. PTAs follow plans created by physical therapists that involve stretching, strength training, exercises, and physical manipulation to help residents/patients recover.
All employees of Cascadia Healthcare are required to submit and be cleared to work in the facility per each state’s specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients/residents.
Qualifications: PTA license CPR license Preferably 6 months of experience in LTC or Skilled nursing
Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program. Licenses/Certification: Current state PTA licensure. Valid CPR certification.
Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
