The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant provides safe, basic care to adult medical specialty patients, including taking vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, collecting specimens, and observing for physical or emotional changes. Additional duties involve recording information in patient charts and ensuring continuity of care through communication with the Patient Care Team.
Required qualifications include being a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and holding current American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS certification. Preferred qualifications include six months of experience in a clinical healthcare environment and six months of experience supporting patients' physical, emotional, and psycho-social needs.

$1.75/hour Sign-On Bonus Eligible! $600 Sign On Bonus with a 1-year work commitment. Must be of legal age to sign a contract, which is at least 18 years old, to be eligible for a sign on bonus. Candidates under 18 years old may still be considered for the position but are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.
OVERVIEW: Welcome to Adult Medical Specialty Unit! AMSU is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Forest Park building. We have 2 units that function independently but we are one department. We serve the adult med-surg patient population. Our patients have a variety of diagnosis that offers a broad range of clinical experiences in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.
