The role involves providing basic patient care, including obtaining vital signs, documenting complaints, assisting physicians with history taking and simple procedures, and preparing/administering non-IV medications under supervision. Medical Assistant II functions may also include coordinating MA workflow, handling front desk duties like scheduling, and ensuring accurate lab specimen collection.
Required qualifications include a High School Graduate/GED Certificate or completion of an accredited MA program or US Armed Forces medical services training, along with proficiency in computer programs used for scheduling. Preferred qualifications include previous Medical Assistant experience, Basic Life Support (CPR) certification, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.
