The Sterile Processing Technician decontaminates, assembles, prepares, and packages surgical instruments and medical equipment using various sterilization and disinfection methods. They are also responsible for maintaining quality control, answering requests for sterile supplies, preparing case carts, and utilizing electronic management systems.
Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of experience as an instrument, surgical, or Central Supply technician, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, along with a High School Diploma or GED. Acquisition and maintenance of CRCST certification is also required.
