The Patient Care Technician supports nursing staff by providing assistance and care to ensure patient comfort, safety, and personal needs are met. This includes assisting patients with daily living activities and performing procedures related to physical hygiene.
Required qualifications include holding an American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification along with being a Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry, Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. A minimum of one year of direct patient care experience in roles such as CNA, PCT, Military Medic, or ED Tech is also mandatory.

Performs duties with the construct of a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members.
REQUIRED Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry OR Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) OR Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) One (1) year of patient care experience, as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech or other relevant acute, direct patient care experience. PREFERRED Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
