The Pediatrician will take patient histories, perform physical examinations, and prescribe treatments based on evidence-based standards of care. They will also coordinate tests and referrals, supervise clinical activities, and participate in quality improvement activities.
Candidates must have a Doctorate Degree and a Physician License in New York State, along with being Board Certified and CPR/BLS certified. Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures and the ability to collaborate with healthcare team members are essential.
Takes histories, performs physical examinations, and prescribes treatment and medication for conditions falling in the scope of his /her specialty following evidence-based standard of care. Provides off hours and hospital coverage for Health Center patients where contractually obligated to do so. Designs and participates in quality improvement activities, including Medical Record Peer Review, performance and procedure audits, outcome audits, and focused reviews. Provides supervision for clinical activities of medical providers and medical documentation in his/her department, including but not limited to review of protocols, telephone triage, follow-up procedures. Coordinates tests, referrals, and care of SRH patients outside the Health Center. Sets standards for preventive care and diagnostic screening within his/her specialty; participates in the development of programs to carry out these standards. Maintains legible and appropriate documentation of medical records. Participates and attends provider meetings. Participates in NBN rounds. Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards.
