A Monitor Technician is primarily responsible for monitoring patients' heart rhythm patterns using telemetry equipment to detect abnormal variances. This involves reviewing patient information, observing the cardiac monitor, and promptly informing the Assistant Nurse Manager and/or Registered Nurse of any abnormal variations to ensure timely patient examination.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with evidence of completing a Rhythm Recognition course or EMT/Paramedic training recognized by the State of Florida. A current BLS Card approved by the American Heart Association is required, and previous Monitor Technician experience is preferred.
Part Time, Nights
A Monitor Technician is responsible for monitoring the heart rhythm pattern of patients to detect abnormal pattern variances using telemetry equipment. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variances. Observes cardiac monitor and listens for alarms to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm. Informs Assistant Nurse Manager and/or Registered Nurse of variances to initiate examination of patient.
