The provider will perform comprehensive skin examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop patient care plans, collaborating with supervising physicians when necessary. Responsibilities also include prescribing medications within scope and counseling patients on conditions and treatment options tailored to their needs.
Candidates must possess a Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program and hold national certification, along with current Indiana state licensure for the applicable advanced practice role. Ideal candidates should have 1-2 years of experience as a licensed Advanced Practice Provider in Dermatology.
As an APP at The South Bend Clinic, you will get the opportunity to: Perform comprehensive skin examinations, conduct and interpret diagnostic testing, develop care plans. Orders diagnostic testing, skin biopsies, laboratory, x-ray, and/or other non-invasive diagnostic tests and procedures. Initiate collaboration with supervising physicians, referrals to appropriate physicians or other health care professionals of problems that exceed the NPs scope of practice. Maintains communication with referring physicians while continuing to provide exceptional patient care. Prescribe medications within scope of practice, with collaborative physician oversight and necessary mid-level practitioner-controlled substance license Counsel patients on conditions, treatment options, and preventative measures, adjusting communication to the patient's age, psycho-social, and cultural needs to achieve optimal health outcomes in accordance with practice protocols
