The Peer Recovery Coach engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations to help members explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. They also provide consultation to the team to reinforce the organization's Recovery Culture and respond to critical situations using high-level engagement and de-escalation skills.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and obtain/maintain Peer Certification, including the California Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification prior to hire. A minimum of one year of experience supporting members with behavioral health challenges and experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care are required, along with a valid driver's license and willingness to use a personal vehicle for client transport.

The Peer Recovery Coach I engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations with members served that assist the members to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Recovery Coaches provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS) in which each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Recovery Coaches respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for members served experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.
Expected starting wage range is $21.00 - $22.52. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

The VISTA Adult Forensic ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) program provides services to people that have been identified as severely and persistently mentally ill and incarcerated within the past year. The program currently serves 30 forensic adults over the age of 18.
