Candidates must have experience as a veterinary technician or assistant, possess strong animal handling skills, and demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork abilities. While a Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) and a degree from an AVMA-accredited program are preferred, they are not strictly required if state eligibility criteria can be met.
