The technician will primarily work weekends, providing vision exams and treatment to military service members, which involves direct patient interaction and operating optical machinery. Duties include assisting the optometrist, managing patient histories, assisting with frame selection, performing minor repairs, and conducting various vision tests.
A minimum of one year of experience as an optometric or ophthalmic technician is required, along with demonstrated experience in performing visual fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography. Candidates must also possess their own transportation for site travel and be proficient with computers, including word processing and database programs.
