The PET/CT Technologist performs diagnostic PET imaging procedures, which includes injecting radiopharmaceuticals, administering contrast, setting up protocols, positioning patients, and managing image data transfer and archiving. This role also involves collaborating on technical issues, supporting compliance programs, and assisting with scheduling and front office functions to ensure smooth workflow.
Candidates must meet specific educational and certification requirements based on the desired level (1, 2, or Sr), generally requiring an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine or Radiologic Technology with PET-CT certification. Experience requirements vary, with Level 1 needing a minimum of three to five years in nuclear medicine preferred, while Level Sr requires a minimum of four years of nuclear medical PET experience.
