The Clinical Nurse will provide direct inpatient nursing care on the Medical-8th Floor (Oncology unit) according to the California Nurse Practice Act and the mission of the Patient Care Services Division. This role involves building relationships with patients, offering compassionate support through cancer treatment challenges, and utilizing research and evidence-based outcomes.
Required qualifications include an active California RN License, two years of nursing experience in a high-acuity setting, current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association, and successful completion of an EKG course. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required, or enrollment must begin within one year of hire if not already obtained.

As part of the Medical Oncology team at Hoag Memorial Hospital, Newport Beach, you’ll give direct inpatient nursing care as per the California Nurse Practice Act, and in support of the mission of the Patient Care Services Division.

Hoag is a recognized leader in cancer care, offering the latest in diagnostic and treatment capabilities to the community. Our Medical Oncology unit features 33 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5 depending on patient mix. While 80 to 90 percent of our admissions are oncology patients, we also receive overflow patients from our various medical/surgical units. Opportunity to grow your skillset in the Oncology specialty and become Chemo-Certified.
