The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for overseeing the diagnosis, treatment, and care management of patients with pulmonary disorders, utilizing various testing techniques to aid in diagnosis and determine appropriate treatment plans per physician orders. Key duties include setting up and operating mechanical ventilators, administering inhaled medications, and conducting special procedures like EKGs and ABGs.
Candidates must possess a minimum of an Associate's Degree and a High School Diploma/GED, along with the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC. Required certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
