The Registered Nurse acts as the core of the patient care team, providing patient-centered care through sensitivity and respect for diversity. The RN coordinates the patient's plan of care by assessing, formulating a nursing diagnosis, and planning, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of the care.
Candidates must possess a current State license as a Registered Nurse and current CPR training, with specialty certifications required by the specific nursing unit. RNs in Ohio must also complete twenty-four contact hours of continuing education during their licensure period.
