The primary responsibility is performing Echocardiography and peripheral vascular ultrasound procedures for both inpatient and outpatient populations under the direction of a registered sonographer. Testing scope includes various echo procedures and comprehensive vascular studies like carotid, venous, and arterial duplex exams.
Candidates must graduate from a Diagnostic Ultrasound Program and obtain one of the specified credentials (RDCS, RVT, RCS, or RVS) within one year of graduation, followed by obtaining the second required credential within one year of the first. A minimum of clinical rotation experience is required, with one year of experience as an Echocardiographer or Peripheral Vascular Tech being preferred.

Under the direction of a registered sonographer, responsible for performing Echocardiography and peripheral vascular ultrasound procedures on an inpatient and outpatient population in accordance with standard policies and procedures. Testing includes, but is not limited to, transthoracic echo, transesophageal echo, stress echo, carotid duplex studies, venous duplex studies, and arterial physiologic and duplex studies.
Must obtain one of the following within one year of graduation: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Must obtain other credential within one year of obtaining the initial credential. Act 33/73 clearances and Healthcare Provider CPR.
