The associate performs professional medical or scientific research assignments in a specialized field, recommending and initiating new procedures based on the latest developments or data analysis. Duties include performing computer programming for data analysis, designing or modifying research equipment, instructing junior personnel, and assisting in writing reports and papers.
Candidates must possess a Master's degree with major coursework in the field or a Bachelor's degree with major coursework in the field. Required experience includes 3 years of laboratory experience with a Master's degree (including 2 years at Research Assistant II level) or 4 years of laboratory experience with a Bachelor's degree (including 2 years at Research Assistant II level).
