Medical Assistants at varying levels (I, II, III) contribute to patient care under licensed medical professionals, with primary duties ranging from supportive patient care and ensuring patient safety (MA I) to administering injectables and performing advanced clinical tasks (MA II/III). Higher levels also serve as resources for less experienced staff.
Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1+ years of related experience without certification, and current BLS certification through the American Heart Association. Experience levels dictate placement at MA I, II, or III, with higher levels requiring more advanced skills and experience.
