The Medical Assistant prepares patients for physician visits by obtaining records, documenting vital signs and chief complaints, and escorting them to exam rooms. They also assist providers with procedures, perform in-office testing like EKGs and immunizations, and maintain clinical areas according to regulatory standards.
Candidates must possess certification as a CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA from an NCCA accredited program. Two years of previous clinical experience is required, though a formal education in medical terminology and anatomy & physiology is preferred.
